Day-to-day, leads project delivery by coordinating internal analyst teams, translating complex scientific data into strategic insights, and ensuring client needs are met on time and within budget. Spends significant time managing stakeholder expectations, presenting findings, and identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.

External Relations Manager
Builds and maintains strategic partnerships between their organization and outside entities - including government agencies, industry partners, donors, community groups, and academic institutions. Day-to-day, coordinates outreach activities, writes proposals and reports, organizes high-level meetings and events, and serves as the public-facing representative of their institution. Ensures the organization's research mission and partnership opportunities are communicated effectively to attract funding, collaborators, and public support.

Business Development
Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates partnerships, licensing deals, and acquisition opportunities that grow a company's drug pipeline or service offerings. Scientific Sales Representative
Sells laboratory instruments, reagents, and scientific products to researchers at universities, biotech companies, and pharmaceutical firms. Day-to-day, visits labs and meets with scientists to understand their research needs, demonstrates products, troubleshoots technical issues, and negotiates deals - acting as a trusted scientific advisor who also drives revenue. Manages a geographic territory, maintains customer relationships through regular follow-ups, and attends scientific conferences to generate leads.

Medical Science Liaison
A field-based scientific expert who builds trusted, peer-to-peer relationships with leading physicians and researchers (Key Opinion Leaders) on behalf of a pharmaceutical or biotech company. Day-to-day, travels to academic medical centers and hospitals to discuss clinical trial data, emerging therapies, and disease-area science - acting as a credible scientific bridge between the company and the medical community without directly selling products. Also gathers field insights that shape company strategy, supports clinical trial site identification, and attends major medical conferences.

Research Development Specialist
Helps faculty at a university or research institution find funding opportunities, build research collaborations, and develop competitive grant proposals. Day-to-day, scans funding agency databases for relevant opportunities, meets with faculty to discuss research goals and match them with grants, helps write and edit proposal narratives and budgets, and facilitates interdisciplinary team-building for large multi-PI projects. Serves as a bridge between individual researchers and the university's sponsored programs office.

Account Manager
Serves as the primary business relationship owner for a portfolio of pharma, biotech, or research institution clients - ensuring satisfaction with products or services and identifying growth opportunities. Day-to-day, meets with scientists, lab directors, and procurement teams, presents solutions addressing research or clinical needs, and negotiates contracts. Combines scientific credibility with business acumen to translate client research challenges into product solutions while hitting revenue targets.
